Applications and Classifications of Deep Groove Ball Bearings

The raceway of a deep groove ball bearing is an arc-shaped groove, with the groove radius slightly larger than the ball radius. It has an extremely wide range of applications, features a simple design, and is a non-separable bearing. It is suitable for high-speed operation, offers high durability, and requires almost no maintenance. Let’s discuss the applications of deep groove ball bearings based on their classifications:

1. Single-Row Deep Groove Ball Bearings

They are widely used and non-separable. Suitable for high-speed operation, they can be used with lubricating grease and require no maintenance. They can bear both radial loads and axial loads, and are generally used in motors, reducers, pneumatic tools, air conditioners, etc.

2. Deep Groove Ball Bearings with Ball Groove

Deep groove ball bearings with a ball groove have a ball recess on the inner and outer rings. They can accommodate more and larger balls than standard products, and have higher axial load capacity, but lower radial load capacity. Their rotational speed is lower than that of standard deep groove ball bearings. The latter are mainly used in automobile transmissions and heavy-duty low-speed rotation applications.

3. Stainless Steel Deep Groove Ball Bearings

Made of stainless steel, they can resist corrosion caused by moisture and other media. They are mainly used in corrosion-resistant environments, the food industry, etc.

4. Double-Row Deep Groove Ball Bearings

Their design is very similar to that of single-row products, except that they have an additional row of balls. In addition to radial loads, they can also bear bidirectional axial loads. They are used in scenarios where single-row deep groove ball bearings cannot meet the load requirements.

5. High-Temperature Resistant Deep Groove Ball Bearings

Generally, their internal clearance is large, which is 4 times that of the C5 clearance. For specific applications, please consult professional technicians. They can be used in a temperature range of -40°C to +250°C.
